Story

This 993 generation of the 911 was the last to be fitted with the classic air-cooled flat-6 engines. The engine displaces 3.6L and is capable of producing 285hp that gets sent to the 4-speed automatic. However the 993 generation's biggest improvement is the addition of a redesigned multi-link rear suspension setup which reduced the tendency of snap oversteer when lifting off the throttle mid-corner. This new suspension design was carried over to the 996 and it made the “unpredictable” 911 more stable and faster around corners. 1996 was also the year that this Targa model was introduced with a cabriolet body but a glass roof to replace the soft-top.
