Once a car guy, always a car guy. Stephen started his auto career in 1972 selling VWs in Richmond. He also bought a Lotus Elan +2S which, led to his buying out one of the partners in Chequered Flag Imports Ltd., the Lotus dealer in Vancouver in 1973.
In 1978 Chequered Flag merged with McLoughlin Motors, and he and his partners took controlling interest in what was now MCL Motor Cars Inc. In 1984 he made the decision to move on to other opportunities and sold his position to his partners. The next nine years were spent in Business Development, Corporate Boards and as President of several junior resource companies. In 1993 Stephen was offered a Management position with ADT Security Services Canada Inc. which culminated in six years as Vice-President of Marketing and Public Relations for Canada, and a seat on the ADT Global Marketing Team.
Stephen left ADT in 2006 and formed Worthington Partners, a marketing and corporate communications consultancy. During this time he maintained his volunteer work with Board Positions on the Delta Hospital Foundation, The St. George’s Alumni Association, Canadian Forces Liaison Council and the rare privilege of an appointment as an RCAF Honorary Colonel of 442 Search and Rescue Squadron.
A fortuitous introduction to Autoform in 2014 lead to his decision to go back to his roots and get back to dealing with great cars with the best company possible. He is particularly pleased to be part of the formation of the Heritage department at Autoform. It helps when you’re old enough to remember those cars when they were new.
Stephens favourite car? A roaring Jaguar XKR.
